Miami Valley Council 2023 National Jamboree Contingent Forming Now!
The National Jamboree is back in 2023! After being canceled in 2021, the National Jamboree will be held 19-28 July 2023 at the Summit Bechtel Reserve in West Virginia. The National Jamboree brings together thousands of Scouts, adult leaders, and staff members from around the world. It is the ultimate Scouting adventure where attendees can take part in Climbing, Kayaking, Whitewater Rafting, Rifle Shooting, Archery, Mountain Biking, Ziplining, Skateboarding, Paddleboarding, BMX Bikes, SCUBA, merit badges, and many more activities.
The Miami Valley Council 2023 National Jamboree Contingent is forming NOW! with the contingent open to both youth and young adults. All contingent members must have a current BSA membership plus meet additional age and rank requirements:
- Contingent YOUTH members MUST be at least 12 years of age and have earned First Class rank by the first day of the Jamboree and will not reach their 18th birthday by the last day of the Jamboree.
- Contingent YOUNG ADULT members MUST be at least 18 years of age by the first day of the Jamboree but will not reach their 21st birthday by the last day of the Jamboree.
Young adults will be housed as an adult due to chronological age, while allowed to participate in program activities consistent with a youth participant.
Council-wide, virtual National Jamboree information sessions are scheduled for June 8th and 21st. Both sessions will start at 7 pm on Zoom. The meeting links can be found below as well as on the council calendar.
The estimated, all-inclusive cost is $1,850. A $250, non-refundable deposit will be collected during the registration process. Contingent space is limited so register today!
